GLMRIS - Brandon Road Scoping Period Now Open

USACE announces its intent to prepare a draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), accept public comments, and host public scoping meetings that will refine GLMRIS - Brandon Road to focus on significant issues, as well as eliminate issues that are not significant from further detailed evaluation. Significant issues in GLMRIS - Brandon Road could include impacts to native species, commercial navigation, water conveyance, water supply, and more.

Public scoping meetings will be held in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) to gain broad-based public and community input. The first of these meetings is scheduled in Lemont, IL for December 6, 2014 at Argonne National Laboratory. The second meeting is scheduled in Chicago on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at The University of Chicago Gleacher Center. Please register if you would like to give a public comment at these meetings. Comments will be accepted until January 16, 2015. You may also submit a comment online.

For more information please see the Brandon Road page.
