GLMRIS Report to Be Released in January

In January 2014, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) will release the Great Lakes and Mississippi River Interbasin Study (GLMRIS) Report. The report presents a range of options and technologies to prevent aquatic nuisance species (ANS) movement between the Great Lakes and Mississippi River basins through aquatic connections.

A comment period on the GLMRIS Report will open following release of the report, and USACE will host public meetings to discuss the contents of the report and allow for public comment. The public meetings are tentatively scheduled for January 2014 at the following proposed locations:

  • Chicago, Illinois
  • Milwaukee, Wisconsin
  • Cleveland, Ohio
  • Ann Arbor, Michigan
  • Traverse City, Michigan
  • St. Paul, Minnesota
  • St. Louis, Missouri

The report will be made available on the newly released GLMRIS Report page, which will also provide additional information on the public meetings and allow advance registration for the meetings. Be sure to check this website and GLMRIS social media for the latest information on the report, upcoming comment period, and public meeting dates and locations.
